Multiplication Table with Arrays
Today the students worked as a team to fill in a multiplication table with arrays. This giant table is on the wall and is a great visual for our math facts. Please remember to have your child practice his/her facts using the Reflex Math program three times a week.
STEM with Mrs. Horton's Class
Last Friday we decided to partner up with Mrs. Horton's fifth grade class to work on making candy corn towers. Students made a plan and shared with their group. They then used trial and error to create the tallest tower using only candy corn and toothpicks. Here are some pictures of our engineers in action.

Mystery Madness!
This week we started our Mystery Unit in reading. I am reading The Absent Author and modeling how to make note of suspects, clues, and motives. The students are working in partners in their own mystery books and taking notes in their Reading Response Notebooks. I'm excited to hear them question character motives and noting any clues or suspicious activity as they read. This unit is perfect for teaching them how to read closely and pay attention to even the smallest of details.
